We spent part of a day in a San Gimignano this weekend. It is a small medieval town that draws a lot of tourists because it has been able to preserve many of its towers. The towers were part of houses and the story is that each of the wealthy families competed to have the highest tower in the town. We had a great time walking around, climbing one of the towers, visiting the Duomo and the Church of San Lorenzo in Ponte, and perusing a photography exhibit at an art museum. We couldn’t take pictures in the Duomo, but took plenty of photos around the town!
