We visited the Museo Archeologico so that Griffin could see all the Egyptian artifacts. It had changed since our last visit in 2008 and we were glad that we visited again. Here is a slideshow of some of my favorite things.
After the museum we visited the huge San Lorenzo Market where you can find almost any type of leather item that you’re looking for, as well as t-shirts and other souvenirs. To master the art of shopping in the market you have to learn to barter. We think we got a pretty good deal for two sweatshirts, a t-shirt, and a hat.
(Any of the pictures on my blog, except the ones in a slideshow, will become enlarged when they are clicked. You can also view any captions that I’ve added for the photo.)
Next, we visited the Baptistery of Saint John. It is in the same square with the Duomo, but is actually older than the cathedral. Many important figures from the Renaissance were baptized here, including members of the ruling Medici family and Dante.
We ended our adventures in a nice cafe in Piazza della Signoria where we had wonderful desserts and conversation with Curt’s colleague, Kevin. I don’t take pictures of food very often, but when I do they are usually desserts!
