This building was the first one that visitors passed upon entering the city through the main gates. It is believed that spikes were added to the building for defense.

Segovia – The town that stands today was built during the medieval period, but has received a sort of facelift. Most of the buildings have a relief pattern on them that was achieved by stamping a plaster-type material after it had been applied to the walls. There are several different designs on the buildings around the town.
