It’s been one week in Madrid! You know what that means, we had to do laundry. I’ll post pics of our state of the art laundry facilities so that you can see how easy it is for us to get a few loads done! Today was the only day that it has rained since we’ve been here. As a result, our trip to the pool was cut short, unfortunately. Griffin and I were going to go to the amusement park today, but he woke up with a severe crick in his neck, so we had to make other plans. The piscina (pool) was ice cold, so we were only in the water for very short periods of time. I didn’t get any pics of Griffin in the pool because a) I went in with him most of the time for moral support due to the cold water and b) Griffin was in and out in a flash, also due to the cold water! The pool that we went to is located in a huge park and is surrounded by a lot of lush trees and landscape. There is also a lake and some recreational facilities that I would like to check out on a future visit when we aren’t caught in a torrential downpour. Curt and his colleagues were on a Graffitti Tour today, so G and I were on our own. One of the stories for the project website is about the graffiti in Madrid, so the students have met with some of the artists and went on the tour today to find out more about the movement’s history as well as the artists’ inspirations. Curt really enjoyed it and I think I would have as well. Griffin, not so much. Hence, the visit to the pool!
